“Chinese History and Culture and Macau” Exhibition was Held at the University of Macau
——A delegation from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China came to visit
On December 26th, 2019, Tian Xuejun who is the deputy minister of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the director of the State Language Committee. Ouyang Yu ,who is Gabinete da Secretária para os Assuntos Sociais e CulturaGoverno da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau. Luo Yonggang,who is the deputy director of the Liason Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R. Lin Jincheng, who is the chairman of University Council of Universityof Macau. Liu Jin, who is the director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Xu Xiaoping, who is the director of the Department of Language Application and Administration Management of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Su Zhaohui,who is the director of the Higher Education Bureau. Song Yonghua, who is the President of the University of Macau. Tian Gang, who is the Vice President of Peking University, and Zhou Zuoyu, who is the Vice President of Beijing Normal University attended the “Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences of Ministry of Education” unveiling ceremony .And ,the members of the delegation of Ministry of Education visited the Center for Chinese History and Culture and were introduced the “Chinese History and Culture and Macau” exhibition under the introduction of Zhu Shoutong ,who is the interim director. This exhibition was organized by Center for Chinese History and Culture and was divided into four parts, which respectively showed the results of “Research”, “Exchange”, “Education and Training” and “Promotion and Popularization” of the Center. The purpose of the exhibition is to convey the history and inherit the cultural heritage, and contribute to China’s historical and cultural research and promotion. After the exhibition, Minister Tian affirmed the Center’s great contribution in inheriting and promoting Chinese history and culture in recent years.

This exhibition also attracted many visitors during the campus open day activities. Many students and their parents said that they have seen the efforts of the University of Macau and the Center for Chinese History and Culture through the exhibition, and they have more deeply realized the connection between the culture of Macau and Chinese history and culture. In 2020, they hope to have more time and opportunities to participate in a series of activities such as education lectures and cultural inspections.

In addition, the staff of the Center also organized Chinese history and culture open day quiz game, and prepared gifts such as bookmarks and folders for the participators. In addition to the local residents of Macau and the people of the Greater Bay Area who came to visit the campus, many international students also participated to experience the interest of Chinese history and culture together.
