UM and the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre jointly organized the photography exhibition “Between Light and Shadow” of Yao Feng

The photography exhibition “Between Light and Shadow” by renowned poet and Emeritus Professor of the Department of Portuguese at the University of Macau (UM), Yao Feng, was held from December 19, 2025, to January 31, 2026, at the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre (CCCM) in Lisbon, Portugal. Co-organized by the Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Teaching and Training Centre (CPC) of UM and CCCM, the exhibition featured 35 photographic works and 15 original poems recently

UM hosts two Chinese-Portuguese competitions to support bilingual talent cultivation

To promote the cultivation of bilingual professionals in Chinese and Portuguese and to facilitate multicultural exchange, the University of Macau (UM) hosted the first Chinese-Portuguese Lyrics Translation Competition and the third Short Video Shooting Contest of Higher Education Institutions in China. UM Confucius Institute holds an academic seminar on “Segmentation of Chinese SVO Sentences”

On the afternoon of November 12, 2025, the Confucius Institute at the University of Macau successfully held an academic seminar titled “Segmentation of Chinese SVO Sentences”. The seminar was delivered by Professor Zhou Ren, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University, and hosted by Professor Chen Zhong, Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute, attracting teachers, students and linguistics researchers to attend.

UM Confucius Institute holds an academic seminar on “The Contemporary Evolution of Rhetorical Word Formation”

On November 7, 2025, the academic seminar titled “Contemporary Developments in Rhetorical Word-Formation,” hosted by the Confucius Institute was successfully held. The speaker of the seminar was Professor Zhu Keyi, Professor and Ph.D. supervisor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Fudan University. On the evening of October 27, 2025, the online academic seminar titled “Korean Linguistics: Exploring the Intersection of Language and Culture in the New World of Chinese” hosted by the Confucius Institute, was successfully held.
